Michala and Nick’s Wedding at The Barn at Sitton Hill Farm

I had been looking forward to this one for a while! Now my anniversary weekend buddies, here are the lovely Michala and Nick!

From their first email, I knew I wanted to be part of this day! These two are so easy and natural to be around and I am sad that they are moving to VA because otherwise I think they are so fun that we should just hang out in general! Nick is a firefighter, and Michala is a doctor–do both heros basically! They compliment each other so well and put together a wedding day that reflected them perfectly! They actually met through a mutual friend but Michala said that she’s meet him but he would have to wait until after she finished her first round of med school boards…and wait he did! I’d say it was worth it! 🙂

Some of my favorite parts of their day were:

• Their first touch: Michala and Nick opted to not do a first look, but did read letters to each other and cue. the. waterworks. It was so sweet and I just do love when a groom has just as much emotion about their big day as the bride does!
• Their details! Everything about the day was gorgeous–their florals were a knockout (Those garden roses were IMPORTED FROM EUROPE but they smelled like they came straight from heaven!) Also everything that referenced their cat, Chips, was amazing! (Nick’s socks, the “Chips” and Salsa bar were particular favorites!)  Also, Nick owns an engraving company and did lots of projects for the wedding including the champagne tumblers for the bridesmaids which were awesome!
• They also had a great example of how calling a schedule audible can be amazing! After the full wedding party portraits, it was HOT, people were hungry, and the sun was still super high in the sky. We decided to move their portrait time closer to sunset and oh man. It was a great call! They were feeling more refreshed and that evening glow was *so perfect* and well worth the wait! 🙂

Michala and Nick, it was awesome but I am also a little sad for it to be over….  BUT super thrilled for your future together which I know will be full of joy, laughter, and all the good things. Cheers, my friends!!
