Emily and Mason’s Westin Poinsett and Grace Church Wedding

When I first heard from Emily, April 6 was the only Saturday I had left in April and after our phone conversation, I was *so hopeful* to fill it with her and Mason. I mean, these 2 have to be in the top 1% of kindest people on planet earth! Always so much warmth, so much kindness….when I say I am blessed with the best couples who be come my friends, I really do mean it!

Emily and Mason took each step of their wedding day so intentionally and their personalities really shone through it all. Some of my favorite part of their day are…

  • The incorporation of meaningful details. There are so many examples, but one is that when Mason proposed, there were honey bees conspicuously around, so she had a little honey bee pin. AND GUESS WHAT….while we were doing portraits after the wedding, there was a little honey bee flying around Emily’s veil. Coincidence? Not in my book! Also, Emily’s ring from her confirmation had the date 3/10 in it….which years later she finds out is also Mason’s birthday. Stop.It.
  • The florals!! Statice Event Design did an *amazing job*. The colors, the bouquets, the ceremony accents, and the *reception*!!! Emily told Statice that she wanted it to “feel like the Shire” from Lord of the Rings and a more elegant shire I have never before seen! I think I actually gasped when I saw the dogwood branches they used for the big reception pieces!
  • You all know me, so this is no surprise. But long veils have my heart!
  • Their ceremony really was a worship service, and I loved worshipping right along side them. Emily and Mason actually go to the same church that I do (a different campus, so I hadn’t met them before working with them–but the same nonetheless) so there were also some familiar faces which was fun!
  • The Westin Poinsett rooftop portraits are always jaw droppers, but the sunset showed out extra this night and made for some epic portraits! I also love it because the Westin sign is a Greenville landmark, but you can’t go up there on the roof unless you have a Westin wedding there, so it is just special in that way too!
  • Mason and Emily’s last song of the night was “Love Story” by Taylor Swift and everyone there surrounded them, all jumping, while they just CELEBRATED that that story is now their story. It was just a few minutes of pure bliss and I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face!

Emily and Mason–I just love you guys! I know this world is, and is going to be, a better place because you two are together in it. So excited to see what is ahead for you all!

Hugs,

Jessie
