Haley and Cody’s Pretty Place Wedding

When I walked in the house where everyone was getting ready, I found Haley and she immediately gave me a big hug and a smile. I will admit, I am spoiled to have brides that always welcome me in to their wedding day warmly and are *so* very kind. And I already knew that was who Haley is, so that was no surprise! But I was prepped for her to (understandably) be carrying some extra stress because it was forecasted to rain pretty hard for most of the day. And it did. But you know what? Haley and Cody 100% took it in stride. They trusted me when we did what might have seemed like weird stuff to get the best light and kept at the front of their minds that, rain or shine, they were getting married. And THAT is beautiful. Their day was so lovely.

Some of my favorite parts were:

– Their whole outlook about the rain was a testament to their relationship and shows just a small glimpse of the perspective that will serve them so well in marriage.

– Haley’s cathedral length veil!!! LOVE

– Their first look and then coming down the aisle. I always tell couples that if they choose to do a first look, that I promise that does not rob emotion from when a groom sees his bride coming down the aisle. They prove this for sure! Cody was in awe of Haley and their first look was just magic. But that does not mean there weren’t tears when the music was playing and she walked down the aisle to him later. Cue happy tears!

– Cody and his mom had just the sweetest mother/son dance. Being a parent, these dances always get me in a weird way that didn’t used to happen. But parent or not, everyone could appreciate what a meaningful moment that dance was!

Mr. and Mrs. Black, it was such a pleasure and honor getting to know you guys and being around to document your wedding day. Thank you so much and many blessings to you!
