Haley & Akshay’s Furman Younts Center Wedding

What a beautiful day it was for Haley and Akshay! Here they are: Mr. and Mrs. Gopalan!

At the end of the evening after Haley and Akshay drove away, there were hugs all around from the family (and they even included me!) and THAT was the perfect representation of their day. Their beginnings were on opposite sides of the world, but their futures and now their families are together. And that is so beautiful!

There was so much to love about their day, but some things that stood out to me were:

  • Akshay had his sister as a grooms-woman and I loved it so much! (Right now my middle daughter is obsessed with her little brother and I could totally see her being in his wedding one day!)
  • Their wedding was at Haley’s family church and it really was special to have the wedding in a place with family history.
  • At the reception Akshay planned a dance for Haley with his Indian family and it was so fun!! Scroll to see that photo!
  • Akshay’s groom’s cake was epic. It said “I love Haley and my Jeep.” It made me smile!
  • The dancing was the best! It was Indian. It was American. But all the time it was fun and didn’t stop all night!

Mr. and Mrs. Gopalan, it was a joy! Thank you for having me along and for the delight it was to document the start of your marriage!
