Ashlyn & Tim’s Wedding at The Gassaway Mansion

Everywhere you turn…..beauty. That was Ashlyn and Tim’s day. Visual beauty, yes–in spades! But also just lots of love (family, friends, and of course the newlyweds) which is the most beautiful of all. Here they are: Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell!

So fun story: On my first call with Ashlyn and Tim we were chatting about where they were getting married. When they said Gassaway Mansion, I mentioned that I had just show bridal portraits there the week before. Well turns out they had also toured it that same day I was shooting bridals….and they had seen me without knowing who I was. So we kind of met before we met–ha!

And that was the start of such a fun planning process. Ashlyn’s mom, Christy is home and design blogger (checkout https://www.oursouthernhomesc.com ) and so you can imagine that everything was just stunning and so well planned out. Ashlyn and Tim are a couple with a long history, and with that comes a sort of ease and comfort with each other that makes wedding days so calm and enjoyable. We went into the day prepped for rain and some shifting ceremony plans, but even that worked itself out and they had the best outdoor ceremony, just as planned!

There were so many memorable moments in their day, but here are a few that stuck out to me:

• The first look! There were tears. They were happy. And my smile hurt from smiling so much!
• The girls got ready at Cotton Rouge’s studio and it was *perfect*. There was so much space to spread out, hang out, and enjoy those early parts of the day with ease.
• If I have said it once, I have said it a million times, but GIVE ME ALL THE LONG VEILS!!! Gah. Just always!
• Theirs was a reception of my dreams because everyone was on their feet and having the time of their lives! No one wanted to leave, but because of that, they had an amazing and rowdy (in the best way!) send off….
• In the most gorgeous getaway car!!!

Ashlyn and Tim, you two are a treasure! Your families couldn’t stop saying how similar you all are and how you are the perfect match. Cheers to that! Wishing you a lifetime of bliss!
