Mandie and Carter’s Aurora Farms Wedding

One day Mandie checked her email to see a message from Carter. Mandie was a tutor for anatomy and physiology at the time, and he was a freshman exercise science student who wanted some help! After getting successfully through A&P, Carter asked her out. Fast forward and now here they are! Mr. and Mrs. Hughes!

Mandie and Carter both have landed in the nursing profession, and you can imagine how that was during Covid. These two actually got engaged right in the middle of the pandemic. And out of an abundance of caution and care for their patients…..they got engaged…6 feet apart! What a story that will get passed on!

Finally last week at Aurora Farms they were able to have their gorgeous wedding under the willow. It was an evening affair complete with charcuterie and cheesecake! YES PLEASE!!

Some of my favorite parts of their day were:

• Did I mention yet the cheesecake and charcuterie? Yeah. That!
• Mandie’s dad was one of the officiants. All his advice was great (a marriage is built brick by brick) and he had such sweet tributes to both Mandie and Carter for being the most servant-hearted. How caring and others-focused they both are has been evident to me from the first email!
• Anytime I get to be at Aurora Farms is a great time! I love shooting there!
• Mandie’s brother was unable to come to the wedding because he was deployed. He wrote her a letter for her to open on the wedding day, and it was so sweet to see that connection even from afar. We even were sure to take a photo “with him” by holding up his photo on her phone.

Mandie and Carter, thank you so much for welcoming me into your wedding day so wholeheartedly! I loved it and wish all the good things for you two!
