Anna & Caleb’s Cotton Press Wedding, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church
When we walked into The Cotton Press last weekend, we were met by a bridesmaid who had all the details for photos ready to go AND the fun roar of the groomsmen hid away in their room having the time of their *lives*! And so was their whole day: equal parts smooth & organized AND full of fun (and don’t misunderstand–the bridesmaids were JUST as fun as the guys)! Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, everyone!!
Anna & Caleb had a beautiful wedding at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Chapin. As with many Catholic weddings, it started a little earlier in the day which means we got lots of their photos in before the ceremony at their reception venue, The Cotton Press, which was also the *perfect* getting ready location! I love shooting there!!
Some special moments that stuck out to me from their day:
That bridesmaid first look! It is so fun when we have time to catch those first reactions from your best girls–and the happy squeals had my face tired from smiling so hard!
That portrait LIGHT!! My husband probably tires of hearing me point out all the time when I see places with pretty light, but I can’t help but see it! When I got to The Cotton Press, I knew we had to center portrait time in the glowing light framed under this tree. It is so dreamy and made their portraits pop just perfectly!
Since they did a first look, we were able to make use of this light because just after Anna walked into the church, the clouds opened up and we had a huge rain shower. It did dry out again by the time we left the church, but the sun had also departed. BUT during the ceremony, there were huge booms of thunder and there was something so powerful about hearing them celebrate the huge importance of marriage while hearing those big booms.
Did I cry during the parent dances? Yes I did. Anna and her dad danced to “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and I was undone.
Party party time! Scroll to the last photo of Caleb getting thrown up in the air, and that is all you need to see to know what a fun dance party these friends and family had. Anna and Caleb were celebrated big, as they should be!
Anna and Caleb, your day was beautiful, and your marriage is, and is going to be, even better. Congrats to the Taylors!!
